You may spot something slightly different at Trewint Street, Wandsworth where Groundwork are working with the Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust to develop proposals to improve the Gateway.

The aim of the works is to make the approaches on both sides of the bridge safer and more inviting for pedestrians and cyclists.

Part of the improvements include improving the look of the shipping containers that are on site whilst improving park/trail identification and wayfinding.

Anna Roots, a local artist, is painting the Wandle Valley logo on the base container which has given the area a brighter look. Anna was present on Saturday’s event and commented:

‘a lot of people walking and cycling along the Wandle trail have stopped to see what I’m doing and have commented on the difference it has made to the area’.

The works at Trewint Street will make improvements to the entrance to the bridge, improving sight lines, railings and path surfaces for pedestrians and cyclists. You can view our other gateway projects here. Let us know what you think!
