This nature reserve is on the eastern River Wandle floodplain near Hackbridge, and owes its modern existence to the cessation of watercress production. It is managed by the London Wildlife Trust and can only be visited by appointment.

The main habitats are reed swamp with mixed wetland vegetation, willow carr woodland, a sedge-bed, pond, and mixed broadleaf woodland.
