Cranmer Green is one of the Mitcham Greens, a series of greens around the old village of Mitcham. It is to the south of The Canons, an interesting house of the Restoration period. The green takes its name from the Cranmer family who lived at The Canons from 1761-1843. The pond is probably late18th century in origin.
