The Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust
The Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. It was established as a company in 2012 and achieved charitable status in 2013.
Board of Trustees
The management of the Trust is overseen by a Board of Trustees/ Directors, with nominations from 9 different organisations who are the Members of the company. They represent local, regional and national organisations and interests. We also have two observers from the Greater London Authority, London Assembly.

The Board meets quarterly and has offers an opportunity for public representations to be made at the beginning of each meeting.

Regional Park Board meetings
The Trust Board meets on a quarterly basis and meetings will be held in public to provide residents and groups to become more aware and involved in regional park decision making.
The next Board meetings are on the following dates:
• 11 July 2018
• 10 October 2018
• 9 January 2019
Charitable objects
The legal paperwork for the Trust is based on the following charitable objects:
To promote such charitable purposes for the benefit of the public and relating to the Wandle Valley as the trustees/directors see fit from time to time by all or any of the following means:
• To provide facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation in the Wandle Valley for the public at large or those who, by reason of their youth, age, infirmity, disablement, financial hardship or social or economic circumstances, have need of such facilities in the interests of social welfare or improving the condition of life for the public or such persons
• To promote, for the benefit of the public, the conservation and improvement of the physical and natural environment within the Wandle Valley
• To promote the preservation of buildings or sites of historic architectural importance in the Wandle Valley
• Such other charitable purposes as the trustees/directors may from time to time determine subject to the prior written consent of the Commission
• The relief of unemployment amongst residents of the Wandle Valley for the benefit of the public in such ways as the trustees/directors may think fit, including assistance to find employment
• For the purposes of this article 4 “Wandle Valley” means the area in the London Boroughs of Croydon, Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth which lies within one point six (1.6) kilometres of the boundary of the Wandle Valley Regional Park
• For the purposes of this article 4 “Wandle Valley Regional Park” means the area shown as such in the London Plan 2011 published by the Greater London Authority

The Trust is currently managed by part time interim CEO John Waxman, who is joined by Lysanne Horrox, full time HLF Resilient Heritage Project Officer.
- Bringing the Park to Life - Strategy 2016-2021
The Trust has worked over the last 12 months to consult with our varied stakeholders and the wider community to refresh the Regional Park Vision and to clarify the purpose of the Trust. Work has included; SWOT analysis, a needs analysis study, an online survey, six workshops and numerous consultations with partners, stakeholders and communities of interest. - Background to the Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust development
Since the 1980s, the Wandle Valley has been identified as a London sub-region and an economic growth corridor. Over recent years, it has seen a wealth of environmental, economic development and community initiatives, which have led to the development of the Wandle Valley Regional Park concept and the setting up of a charitable Trust to deliver on this ambition.
