Our campaigning was instrumental in establishing the Wandle Valley Regional Park and we are integral to its future development. Support us by offering your time or giving a donation.
The Wandle Valley Forum:
Is the primary consultative forum for the Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust, four London boroughs, Greater London Authority and other statutory bodies on Wandle Valley issues
- Provides an independent voice which speaks out on issues that matter to the future of the Wandle
- Provides information and support through regular publication of Wandle News and Wandle e-Bulletin and via twitter and Facebook
- Organises events and workshops which bring people together from across the Wandle Valley
- Feeds in views on planning policies and development proposals to protect and enhance the river and its surroundings
- Provides two members of the Wandle Valley Regional Park Trust Board
We support a wide range of projects and initiatives that contribute to the future of the whole Wandle Valley, including to:
- Maintain, improve and complete the Wandle Trail along the full length of the river
- Raise awareness and improve management of the Wandle’s diverse cultural and industrial heritage, including its mills and landmark historic sites
- Realise the opportunity at Hackbridge, Beddington Farmlands and Mitcham Common to provide a major new public focus for the Wandle Valley
- Develop the Wandle’s identity as a source of business and economic success
- Support development of the Wandle as a “green valley” with a major focus on generating renewable energy for its communities
- Encourage use of the Wandle Valley for healthy outdoor activity, community volunteering and public events
- Secure fair funding for the Wandle Valley Regional Park from its four constituent London boroughs and by campaigning for a review of the Lee Valley precept
