Frank R. Dickinson (1874-1961) was an artist, designer and craftsman who was inspired by John Ruskin, William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement.

With a very small budget, he built Little Holland House between 1902-4, making the furniture, painting the artworks, carrying out the carvings, interior decoration and metalwork himself.

It’s well worth a visit to see the work of such a master craftsman of both traditional, Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau design. The house is open only occasionally – in the afternoons of the first Sundays of the month plus Bank Holidays.
