Welcome to the
Wandle Valley Regional Park
We are creating a new regional park for London that connects communities
across four boroughs and attracts visitors from across the city.
Visiting Wandle Valley
As well as the Wandle Trail providing ample walking and cycling opportunities there are opportunities to play football, rugby, bowls and tennis in most of the larger parks in the WVRP.
The Wandle Valley Regional Park is ironically a legacy of the Industrial Revolution. Its fast-flowing waters powered about 100 mills from Croydon and Carshalton to the Thames at Wandsworth.
What the Wandle Park Valley
Morden Hall Park
Morden Hall Park, on the banks of the River Wandle, is owned by the National Trust. It is over 50 hectares of parkland –
a former deer park, originally owned by Westminster Abbey.
The Wandle Trail
The Wandle Valley has a rich history deriving from its industrial heritage. It also has unique natural environmental and wildlife attributes.
In order to protect this for existing and future generations, we are building a new regional park.
