The Wandle Piscators founded in 2004, is a mixed species, mixed method fishing club based on the River Wandle. The club is committed to improving the water quality and species health of this historic urban chalk stream after pollution incidents over the years have often caused the river to dramatically degrade.
The club are holding free angling taster sessions throughout the year and are looking to get young people hooked on fishing The Wandle by forming a Junior Angling Club.
A Junior Team is in the making and so far the “Young Piscators” have taken part in the London Youth Games, have fished at Cannon Hill Lake and have been busy working with Wandle Valley School to establish a fishing qualification for their students.
If you would like to try your hand at fishing the Wandle for free and perhaps become a member of the Junior Angling Club please contact John O’Brien at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0208 878 9289.
This project is part of the wider Living Wandle Landscape Partnership Scheme, supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
