Mill Green is a Site of Nature Conservation Importance, managed by Mitcham Common Conservators. In the 17th century it was known as Cranmarsh and then later as Beddington Corner.

Today it is a triangular open space with areas of grass, mature and semi-mature perimeter trees including three mature hybrid black poplars in the south-west and a series of ditches and culverts that were linked to the Wandle River.
